Presbyterian Women of Los Ranchos warmly invite women and men to join them at Canvas, Irvine, on February 2, 2019 (9:30 am – 12 noon) to hear from an all-star panel: Jacob Avery (UCI), Mohammed Aly (Orange County Poverty Alleviation Coalition), and Helen Cameron (Jamboree Housing). World-renowned “homeless” displays by photographer David Freeman and artist Brian Peterson (Faces of Santa Ana) who will also be there with one of his subjects.
The added benefit of this program is that between it and a second program Homelessness Demystified: Strategic Directions and Missional Actions on May 4th, there will be a Buffet of Educational Experiences (BEE). We all learn in different ways and so the BEE Menu will contain carefully selected hands-on activities and experiences, opportunities to tour housing, volunteer, and interact within the homeless and advocacy communities.A resource for you to take away, to choose what and how you want to learn – i.e. put on our plate to savor – over the next few months. People all across the OC and south LA are stepping up to provide the Buffet of Educational Experiences.
Join us on Feb. 2nd, listen to the experts, experience the art, and meet some of the folks who’re a part of the BEE. Let us continue to #bethechange we want to see in the world.
On May 4th we will reconvene to hear from another all-star panel. Tentative plans are to start with an open community forum where you, BEE participants, share the highlights of your experiences and identify some strategic and missional actions for individual and collective impact to end homelessness by empowering housing for all in the OC and LA.
